15. Orlando Magic
G – Tyrell Terry, Stanford
Having another combo guard would be great for the Magic. Terry is an outstanding shot maker and shot creator. Even though he is 6’3 he has and advanced offensive skill set that can help the magic for when Evan Fournier and T Ross hit the bench. I see him as a middle class CJ McCollum.
16. Portland Trailblazers
PG – Theo Malédon, France
Portland has a lot of decisions to make. Malédon has high basketball IQ and is more than capable of giving Dame or CJ some much needed rest. He Can spot up a shoot, a great rebounder for his position and can defend multiple positions.
17. Minnesota Timberwolves
F – Patrick Williams, FSU
Already drafted Edwards with the #1 Pick, Patrick Williams can add more versatility to a lineup that need Forward depth. Potential to be a 2-Way Forward. We all know by adding defense around KAT and DLo that will be the key to success.
18. Dallas Mavericks
PF – Precious Achiuwa, Memphis
He’s not a 7 footer but with a massive wingspan, he can play like one. Putting him next to a unicorn in Porzingis, it probably wouldn’t even matter. He’s more of a slashing 4 than a pick n pop guy. Having him with Luka in a pick n roll allows KP to stay around the perimeter and can keep spacing on the court. He can be a really good role player for Rick Carlisle.
19. Brooklyn Nets
C – Filip Petrusev, Gonzaga
This team may lose Jarrett Allen because of playing time and financial reasons – getting a Filip can be huge. He can space the floor unlike Allen and De’Andre Jordan. Shot over 40% from 3pt this past college season. Would be hard to defend a spot up big man with the likes of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving with the ball in their hands in a pick n pop offense.
20. Miami Heat
C – Daniel Oturu, Minnesota
Another big off the board. Oturu can help put Bam Adebayo back to his natural position at the 4. Can be a force on the defensive end, he average 2.5 blocks per game. Miami prides themselves on defense and because of that Jimmy and the gang will welcome him with open arms.
21. Philadelphia 76ers
G – Josh Green, Arizona
We know 76ers doesn’t like to space the floor. But with Korkmaz and Glenn Robinson III becoming FAs, they would need to fill in the holes for a cheaper rate. Josh Green can play defense, shoot the ball and capable to run the offense as the PG. He can make an impact right away for the 76ers, whoever the coach will be.
22. Denver Nuggets
F – Jaden McDaniels, Washington
Another project player that Denver can develop. Needs to add on weight but Jaden McDaniels can fill up the scoreboard. With his length and potential to be a spot up shooter it can create defensive nightmares when there’s a Bol-McDaniels-Porter lineup on the court.
23. Utah Jazz
PG – Nick Mannion, Arizona
All around PG, Mannion has the ability to be a starter for a long time with his vision and 3pt shooting. For the Jazz, it could be a great pairing along side Donovan Mitchell, as they replacement for Mike Conley. He’s team-orientated which Quinn Snyder would like.
24. Milwaukee Bucks
G – Tyrese Maxey, Kentucky
Maxey could give the Bucks what their missing, that Lou Will – 6th man off the bench. Bucks have scoring droughts and Maxey maybe the one to help them out of it. He’s unselfish and patient and takes what the defense gives him. Has the ability to take over the game.
25. Oklahoma City Thunder
F – Paul Reed, DePaul
Did you think I would draft a guard here? Paul Reed does a little bit of everything for a team that played extremely fast. For OKC and the 3 guard set Reed can proved he’s most effective as a finisher running the floor, crashing the glass, rolling to the rim, and catching lobs. Plus he’s one of the best defenders in the draft.
26. Boston Celtics
PG – Cole Anthony, UNC
Not a great year at UNC but Cole Anthony will find himself in a good situation to learn behind one of the best PGs in basketball. He’ll be competing with other guards for playing time but he’ll have time to develop. Boston would be taking BPA (best players available).
27. New York Knicks
F – Jalen Smith, Maryland
Jalen Smith can help the Knicks in the future. High motor player that will give you his all. Improved his shooting to make him an inside-out big. Good defensive tools and instincts. Crowded front court but who knows how long they’ll stay under Thibs.
28. Los Angeles Lakers
PG – RJ Hampton, USA
Backcourt scoring could help the Lakers out tremendously. RJ Hampton, at 6’4 can create for himself and others. The pick n roll game can be someone else other than Lebron. Getting young talent will be key for the Lakers going and growing forward.
29. Toronto Raptors
F – Tyler Bey, Colorado
Adding a long forward to the Raptors is right on brand. Tyler Bey is versatile athletic athlete who can play both sides of the ball at a high rate. Perfect for the “small ball 4” even at 215 lbs. Add muscle and he can be a consistent role player for a long time.
30. Boston Celtics
SG/SF – Elijah Hughes, Syracuse
Elijah Hughes, certified bucket getter, he’s an offensive player that can put the ball in the basket. Gordon Hayward or Jaylen Brown could be on the way out due to financial reasons perhaps Hughes could eventually fill the void.
