Week 1 was a lot of disappointment from a exciting standpoint, a lot of slow & turnover-filled games yet some players showed greatness from start to finish. Rashad Harris, from the Prophets Pod, put together our version of the MVP Race.
#5 QB Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

The numbers are not gawdy, but not many people could have kept the game close considering the number of drops by his receivers. To nearly lead your team to a win, missing two of your best players (Travis Kelce & Chris Jones) has to count for something. We can only wonder what happens if Skyy Moore or Kadrius Toney catches those late 4th quarter plays .
Season Stats: 21/39 226 yards 2 TDs 1 INT 53.8% Comp, 77.5 Rating
#4. QB Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

You don’t want to overreact to one performance, but does Green Bay have their next 15-year quarterback? Love completed 15/27 passes for 245 yards and three TDs against what was expected to be an improved Bears team. Love and Matt LaFleur had a nice opening week together. Let’s see how this tandem improves in the coming weeks.
Season Stats: 15/27 245 yards 3 TDs 0 INT 55.5 Comp %, 123.2 Rating
#3 QB Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

Mr. Irrelevant picked apart the Steelers defense to the tune of 220 yards and two TDs in the 30-7 win. The 7th rd pick is executing the Shanahan system perfectly using players like Deebo, Brandon Ayiuk & George Kittle.
Season Stats: 19/29 220 yards 2 TDs 0 INT 65.5 Comp %, 111.3 Rating
#2 WR Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins

Cheetah is by far the scariest player in the league. He cannot be covered one-on-one, even if the Chargers chose to do so Sunday. Hill has been a huge part of Tua’s ascension since arriving in Miami. His goal is to exceed 2,000 receiving yards & yes, it’s only one game but he is on pace to reach that.
Season Stats: 11 catches 215 yards 2 TDs, 73.3% Catch Rate
#1 QB Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Tua finished Week 1 with 466 passing yards against a highly talented Chargers defense. Tua’s three TDs and one INT performance helped lead the Dolphins to a 36-34 win. Tua was an MVP candidate last year before concussions caused him to miss some time, so no suprised to see him on this list.
Season Stats: 28/45 466 yards 3 TDs 1 INT 62.2 Comp%, 110.0 Rating
